"Yakety Sax" is like bacon -- adding it makes just about anything better.
I've always liked the I Beat Anorexia guy - makes me smile every time I see him.
The turmoil at ND is just beginning. Can you imagine a coach saying "We're going back to training camp" after the third week of the season? Wouldn't you be pissed beyond belief?
Just postulating, but won't ND's abysmal performance this season have an impact on their next NBC contract? If I'm NBC, don't I expect a WINNING Notre Dame program for all the money I'm paying?
Now, if NBC were to drop ND, where would ND turn to get the national exposure they need to maintain a top level football program? Could this year be the genesis of Notre Dame making overtures to get in the Big 10/11 or Big East?
You guys are great. Best blog I've read, I'm a Terp fan and "The M Zone" still manages to drastically reduce my productivity! Keep up the good work and good luck with the Big Ten!
Fear the Turtle!
It's funny: I noted in a very recent post that "Yakety Sax" was a great example of a good song that was ruined by the saxophone.
Oh, well.
Another one is "Tequila," by The Champs--the sax gets in the way of the lyrics. Er--the lyric.
stopping the clock....NOW....its been officially three weeks since you've been able to make fun of another college football program...congrats!
Wideout Deon Butler, who played in the 2005 loss at Ann Arbor as a freshman, said he's not too concerned about Saturday's game as far as his receivers are concerned.
“I don’t think we have a lot of pressure on our shoulders. We’ve been out there when it’s been its rowdiest,” Butler said. “It’s not a super overwhelming place to play at so, I think ... when the ball is in the air, we’ll be ready to make plays.”
BiB... I truly think ND will still get a NBC deal. ND has the second largest active alumni assoc in the world and loyal fans with TVs all over North America.
As far as conferences go, ND already is affiliated with the Big East for many of their sports programs.
And like Bo once said, ND needs the Big 10 more than the Big 10 needs ND.
The current Big 10 commish is also on record as saying he's not in favor of adding a 12th team solely to round out the conference and have a championship game.
